What is this thing many people here have against the Poles??!! In
Cornwall yesterday one of the churches had an evening welcoming the
Poles, they were invited along to get involved in various activities
etc. Most of them are students working on the land etc. Very nice
people, no trouble, benefit to the community etc. etc.

About time people here just grew up. Many people emigrate, including
white British people to other countries...it's just the way thinsg
are, people just trying to get on and all that. Many indiginous people
have absolutely no idea about their culture/history - it's often
people from outside that take more interest, in fact it can often be
the case that 'outsiders' re-introduce former customs etc. into an
area. This equally applies to British people moveing into a new area
of Britain. In Cardigan the theatre and venues where music events take
place, for instance, are often run and organisd by .guess
who....English people. Culture is something we can all embrace,
wherever we are from and wherever we now live.

It's the amount of them coming here, and Cornwall is a bit special in that
it's the poorest county in the UK yet all the well-off luvvies that live
there seem to spend more time looking after foreigners than poor British
kids.
Cornwall doesn't count cos it's La-La land.
Besides, Cwiss X can't moan about the Muslims cos he lurves them so much.

UKIP's latest electoral "triumph", where its candidate polled a far from
impressive 8 (eight) votes - which at 0.45% constitutes less than one half,
of one per cent, of all votes cast - has been greeted with dismay in
Westcountry UKIP circles - reports one of our Devon BNP correspondents.

This is particularly so as only the week before last, leading UKIPers were
talking up the by-election in Nuneaton and Bedworth's Bede Ward. Then it was
a confident prediction of gaining "between 10% and 20%, possible more" and
that "it's a two-horse race between UKIP and Labour"!

Last week, however, predictions had a little less certainty about them -
with a "we'll poll over 10% of the vote - probably"!

So perhaps you can understand UKIP members dismay on learning, during the
course of the day, that despite a credible effort, their party could only
manage to persuade a mere 8 of the ward's 4,800 voters to vote for them -
representing a tiny 0.45% of those who actually voted and a miniscule 0.16%
of those eligible to do so!

And it gets better!

According to a senior UKIP official - the ward "was not good UKIP
territory" - it comprising, it is claimed, the "sort of housing estates that
favour Labour and the BNP"; this despite the rather inconvenient, if not
obvious, fact that the ward is exactly the sort of lower middle-class, upper
working class mix that should favour a party like UKIP!

"Maybe it simply wasn't posh enough for them" suggests our correspondent on
hearing this excuse.

The big question that UKIP's top brass are probably avoiding like a biblical
plague is - why it is that at least four of the twelve people who signed
their candidate's nomination form decided not to vote for him?

However this disaster will not deter UKIP from pressing ahead with their
plans to contest as many Parliamentary seats as possible (excepting those
whose incumbents openly declare themselves to be "Euro-sceptic") at the next
General Election - a strategy that suits Labour to a "T" - as any such
strategy can only asist Labour in clinging on to power - as it did at the
last General Election when UKIP prevented the Tories from gaining 17 or so,
seats!
