Why does the history of science and technology matter?
Studying the history of an enterprise as forward-thinking as science may seem a bit pointless to some. But in fact, we can learn a lot from our historical counterparts. Both their successes and failures create a platform on which we can build today. Consider what it was that made scientists come up with completely original ideas. How have these ideas contributed to today’s world? And are we any closer to discovering the true purpose of science?
