Trying to live on a budget is on the minds of all of us these days, but with the constant reminder that we could all do a little more exercise, or eat a little healthier, there feels like a constant pressure on us to be different.

However, with obesity a major problem in many countries, more of us could do more to improve our physical situation. Everything costs so much though, right? And although payday loan websites (such as Wonga.ca etc.) are quick and reliable you don’t want to be relying on them for a bit of extra income just to pay for gym fees.

Well, there are many ways to lose weight without your wallet losing weight too! Below is a variety of ways you can save money and lose some of that excess weight at the same time;

Buy In Portions

Many people buy these small packets of snack bars, cereal, and various small snacks because they believe eating smaller portions will make sure you lose weight. However, these individual packs add up and you can easily be spending weekly on small cereal bars and portions than you would spend in a month on a box of cereal. Simply manage your bowl sizes versus the size of a miniature box – this way you save money, without eating more.

Drink more water

Water is pure hydration. In most countries you will need to buy a water filter to create water you can drink with ease. It may be a little expensive but it’s well worth it – drinking water not only hydrates you better, but it saves you money on fizzy drinks which aren’t exactly great for you, and means you don’t need to buy water. Water is so easy to drink because it’s so refreshing, you can be powering through large bottles of water at will.

Walk!

This is a very simple one – rather than take the car, walk. If you are going to the supermarket for a weekly shop, if it’s within carrying distance, walk rather than take the car. The extra lifting will help you burn off extra weight, too. Basically, walking is one of the best things we can do for our bodies, so walking for about an hour a day is extremely important for us. You used to do it back in school with ease – get back into the habit of walking more often.

Eat at home

How many times do you stop in to a fast food outlet like a Subway or a McDonalds, because of convenience? Because these places do meal deals for as little as £5, it sounds really simple. Get food for a small amount of cash, save time. But if you do this three or four times a week – at work on your break, for example – well that is an extra £15-£20 a week! As well as the added calories these extra meals add, they hit your wallet big style. You could easily be into the £100 mark there, if you also have a take-away for dinner, for example.

Eating at home means you can eat healthier, try and find a common lunch that you don’t mean eating two or three times a week that is cheap and good for you. Pasta for example is very cheap and easy to make into something a little more creative, that you can enjoy without piling on weight or breaking open the piggybank.

Overall, there are lots of ways to just control your weight and spending, all in the same run. Try out the tips above and notice a significant difference in your spending and weight gain!
