For chills down your spine the scariest show in London has to be the ever enduring and frightening The Woman in Black at the Fortune theatre. Be prepared to jump out of your skin at the ghostly tale of the going ons at the forbidding Eel Marsh House.

The best classic whodunnit is The Mousetrap at the Ambassadors theatre, still keeps you guessing right to the end in this intriguing Agatha Christie murder mystery.
The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Night-Time
For the intellectual the most acclaimed play in London is The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Night-Time, and probably the longest title also. Mark Treddon’s best seller is transferred to the stage at the Apollo theatre and tells the story of the autistic Christopher who investigates the death of his neighbour’s dog. Brilliant acting all round.
War Horse
War Horse is the best play in London, adapted from Michael Morpurgo’s bestselling children’s book, it has been brought to life in the most inventive and imaginative way at the New London theatre. The incredibly moving tale tells the story of Joey the horse and his epic journey through World War I and the determination of his first owner, Albert, to track him down.
Phantom of the Opora
The most romantic show in the West End is between the long-running Phantom of the Opera, always a firm favourite and the new musical Once at the Phoenix theatre which has proved particularly popular with the ladies for it’s quiet understated love story.
Charlie and The Chocolate Factory
For good old-fashioned family entertainment you cannot beat the new musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory based upon Roald Dahl’s classic children’s book. The best fun night out has got to be Jersey Boys, a wonderful entertaining show packed with the hits of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. This colourful musical tells the true story of how the band got together and their brushes with the law and the mob as they climbed their way to super stardom.
ABBA
The best feel-good show is the ABBA musical, Mamma Mia! A young girl on the eve of her wedding is determined to find out which of three possible ex-boyfriends of her mother is her real father, so unbeknown to her mum she invites all three to the wedding. Set on a Greek island with over 20 of ABBA’s greatest hits you know you are destined for a happy ending and the cast are so enthusiastic.
Wicked
Wicked is the classiest, most spectacular musical. Especially popular for young girls and ladies of all ages as it depicts the budding friendship of two girls as they set out on their journey in life which will ultimately prove both tragic and rewarding. Billed as the untold story of the witches from the Wizard of Oz, it is a prequel to the film, and explores how Elphaba became the wicked witch and her friend, Glinda, became the good fairy. A thoroughly rewarding show.
Rock of Ages
But the coolest show in London, is Rock of Ages at the Garrick theatre. The film that it spawned is truly atrocious but the musical in London is simply great. It is cheesy, it is corny, it is hilarious and it rocks to some of the best power ballads and rock anthems of the 80’s. So if it’s cool you are after get out your platform boots, don your torn jeans, tilt your cowboy hat and go enjoy Rock of Ages.
