Student Visa – Are you Aware How to Apply?
Despite the changes that took place in July, many foreign students are still confused about how to apply for a student visa to study here in the UK.
With Manchester, Oxford and the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst amongst the most popular destinations, more than 50 current presidents, prime ministers and monarchs have been educated at UK universities, which just goes to show how prestigious our education system has become.
Whilst the changes that have been made will help reduce immigration abuse ensuring the UK remains, competitive and attracts the brightest international students, many have claimed that the new points based system is confusing, and actually deters foreign students from considering a UK education.
The simple fact is, that international students contribute a substantial amount to the UK’s economy, enabling a strong and more diverse workforce that can compete on a global scale.
With many universities understanding the importance of foreign students, campaigns have been setup nationally to make Britain a place that is welcoming students and not deterring them. Videos of international students expressing their experience in the UK has gone viral, and many have adopted infographics such as the one below by Taylor Rose to give international students useful guides on how they can apply.
The process is by no means easy, but isn’t that always the case when filling out paper work?

As the law changes often you should perhaps seek legal guidance to keep yourself up to date. Your campus will most likely have an International Student Support Office that can advise you how to gain the information you need and who you should contact.
